Obituary
STATESVILLE, N.C. -- Elsie Mae Clark Sutton passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009, at her residence. She was 86.
Mrs. Sutton was born Aug. 10, 1922, in Hampton, a daughter of Archer and Grace Sampson Clark. She attended schools in Hampton.
She was of the Methodist faith, a farmer's wife and a homemaker.
Her husband, Frederick Lo Sutton, died earlier as did two sisters, Carolyn Zimmerman and Gladys Lake, and one brother, Franklin Clark.
Mrs. Sutton is survived by a son, Frederick Clark Sutton of Statesville; daughter Jane Carroll Hoffman of New Jersey; brother Archer Clark of California; sister Selma Lake of N.J.; granddaughters Shawna Garris and Jessica Cahill; and great-grandchildren Brooke Cahill and Lyndsay Garris.
Services: Calling hours Wednesday, March 25, 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home, Statesville, and Friday, March 27, 6-9 p.m., and services Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, Main Street, Lebanon.
Burial will be held in Mountain View Cemetery, Cokesbury.
